This Government funded Level 3 NVQ in health and social care is FREE for workers in adult care homes based in the Liverpool and Merseyside area.
This level 3 NVQ qualification helps develop the knowledge and skills for staff working as lead adult care workers in care homes or as community carers. The course covers supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures.
This is a combined knowledge and competence qualification for individuals who would like to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a Senior Carer. A level 3 NVQ diploma is equivalent to an advanced technical certificate or 2 A levels.
Why Is This Course Free?
From April 2021, any adult aged 24 and over who wants to achieve their first full level 3 NVQ qualification will be able to access hundreds of fully-funded NVQ courses as part of the National Skills Fund ‘Lifetime Skills Guarantee’.
Do You Qualify?
This level 3 NVQ qualification is for learners aged 19+ and currently working as a carer or in a care home. You will need a minimum of Level 1 English to complete the course. If you cannot provide proof of a Level 1 English qualification a small written task will be set to establish the skills needed. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating skills in real working situations.
What You Can Do Next?
After completing this qualification, learners could progress on to Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care. This qualification is for individuals who want to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to supervise within adult care settings. In particular, this level 4 NVQ qualification is appropriate for existing senior carers for further development or for those aspiring to become managers.
