Skills For Care Mandatory TrainingThere are a number of mandatory Skills For Care  training courses which social care workers & staff working in adult care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary carers & community care need to complete before starting a job in the UK

These training courses must meet the required learning outcomes in the Skills for Care’s Care Certificate, Skills for Health’s UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Care Quality Commission (CQC) recommendations for health and social care providers.

Rapid Induction – As part of the Skills for Care regulations all new staff working in health and social care must undertake a rapid induction programme. We offer training in all the areas within the rapid induction programme:

  • Assisting and moving people
  • Basis life support
  • Fires safety*
  • Food safety*
  • Health and safety awareness*
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Medication management
  • Safeguarding ( specifically around isolation)

Please note those courses marked with an * are also available through e-learning allowing a learner to complete training in their own time and pace. Upon completion of the e learning course a certificate of completion will be provided.

Skills For Care Certificates


Managers Guide To Achieving A Care Certificate – £50 | E learning | Funding Available

This e learning course supports managers in ensuring all their employees achieved the Care Certificate. The course covers the employer’s responsibility, observation requirements, providing feedback, creating the certificate and claiming funding through the Workforce Development Fund (WDF).

Care Certificate – 115 GLH | £50 | Regulated learning | Funding Available

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. Made up of the 15 minimum
standards that should be covered if you are ‘new to care’. This course forms part of a robust induction programme. We have designed the course to be self-directed using an e-learning website with support from an online tutor if needed. The learner will work through all the knowledge requirements ready to fulfil the practical outcomes at work with their employer
