Mental Health Awareness TrainingChallenging behaviour is any behaviour that someone displays that is a challenge for others to manage and/or puts the young person or others at risk. Lots of young people with learning disabilities have behaviours that challenge.

This level 2 NVQ qualification develops learner’s knowledge on how to manage and adjust to challenging behaviours in clients. Learners starting this programme may work in the Health and Social Care sector.

  • Understanding person centred support when identifying and managing behaviour which may challenge
  • Understanding good practice strategies to promote positive behaviours
  • Understanding the impact of behaviours on the individual and self

Accreditation and Assessment

AOne’s Understanding Behaviour that Challenges qualification is accredited by iCQ which is regulated by Ofqual. The assessment will be through a portfolio of evidence completed while the learner is on the units listed above.

Duration of Course

This NVQ Level 2 in Understanding Behaviour That Challenges course requires 150 Guided Learning Hours to complete, which will be led by an industry expert tutor.

Progression Options

This programme helps learners understand the principles of challenging behaviours and will allow them to specialise in an area relating to this subject such as mental health or learning disabilities.
