Skills For Care TrainingThese Level 2 training courses are FREE for workers who are over 19 and working in the health and social care sector in Derbyshire, Nottingham, Newark, Retford, Mansfield, Beeston, Southwell, Worksop, Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Sherwood, Rushcliffe and other areas in Nottinghamshire

The objective of these Level 2 qualification is to develop the knowledge and skills needed when working in a health and social care worker role in care home, community or domiciliary social care settings. They cover a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with mental health and behavioural issues and specialist health and social care procedures.

These qualification are gained through online learning and will take 6 to 8 weeks to complete depending on engagement. Learners can take as many of these courses as they wish and they are completely free to learners who are over 19 and living in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Free Level 2 Skills For Care Qualification In Nottingham & Derby

We have been given funding to spend throughout Nottingham from the government to give away FREE courses in:

NVQ Level 2 Diploma Adult Care (6+ months duration) – This is the basic entry-level qualification for care staff. It is for everyone who works or wishes to work in health or social care. This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care settings which will allow them to professionally progress in their career. This qualification is for learners who are working as; care workers, healthcare assistants, support workers, personal assistants, etc.

Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia – This qualification ensures that learners develop an essential understanding of caring for people with dementia, and covers the benefits of positive communication, use of medication and the importance of highly individualised, person-centred care.

Level 2 Award in End of Life Care – This qualification provides the opportunity to develop an understanding of different perspectives of death and dying, and the impact it has on individuals. It covers the aims and principles of end of life care, communication factors and how to access a range of support services in end of life care

Level 2 Certificate in Autism Awareness – This will give you an understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism. You will look at the person-centered approach and the influence that positive communication methods can have and will gain an understanding of how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

L2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF) – This course prepares you for any role within adult social care, in order to ensure the needs of vulnerable people continue to be met.

L1 Award in Introduction to Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Setting (RQF) – This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. It includes the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others.

Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness – This qualification aims to raise your awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems. You will gain an understanding of prevalent mental health problems and how you can then work with or interact with individuals with them.

Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Medication Handling in Care Settings – This qualification can be taken by learners preparing to enter employment or by those who are already in employment in a care role and wish to develop specialist knowledge in relation to medication handling and administration.

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour That Challenges – This qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of behaviour that challenges and its effects and could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications useful to learners working in education settings.

Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding & Prevent – This qualification is to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety. By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where they have a duty of care.

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace – The purpose of this qualification is to give learners the skills to support colleagues with mental health problems. These skills will be gained by increasing the learner’s knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions and the principles of mental health first aid and how this can be implemented in the workplace.

Free Social Care Level 2 and QCF Training Courses

For all staff aged 19+ and are living in the Derby, Nottingham, Newark, Retford, Mansfield, Beeston, Southwell, and Worksop area ONLY. This is based online, and once completed it will take 6-8 weeks depending on learning engagement. You can complete several courses at one time, so while these are free it is worth using them.
